There are only a few states which accept direct applications of foreign nationals for this test. In the states which accept direct applications, the candidate needs to put forward his or her foreign degree to be scrutinized by the ABA. If the degree is accepted then the foreign national is permitted to sit for the test in the same way as the local candidate. For the states which do not accept foreign degrees, the only option for the candidate is to get a degree from an ABA recognized school before applying for the test.
